Spent my whole day yesterday looking for a party tent... well not my whole day but anyway... If anyone knows where I can get a party tent or an Army surplus tent or something please let me know... I'm looking for something in the 20'x40' range, a little smaller might be ok too.
Vindication! Sort of... most of you who know me know I subscribe to the Atkins no carb kind of diet. This diet has given me moderate success where others have failed miserably. All along as I would do my diet I would meet nothing but resistance from most people. I would try to explain how the diet worked but they would always come back with a "yea but" and it was always something about heart healthy and this and that. Alot of the people I would tell would think it's just out and out quackery! Well this article in the the Ney York times entitled "What if It's All Been a Big Fat Lie?" goes into the Atkins pheonomenon.

In the intervening years, the National Institute of Health spent several hundred million dollars trying to demonstrate a connection between eating fat and getting heart disease and, despite what we might think, it failed. Five major studies revealed no such link. A sixth, however, costing well over $100 million alone, concluded that reducing cholesterol by drug therapy could prevent heart disease.
Did you know that low fat diets are actually bad for your triglycerides? Now this is a long article and not for the faint of heart, there's some pretty dry stuff in there but for all of you have ever wondered about my diet when I didn't explain it well enough or maybe you just dismissed what I was saying at the time read on... and for all you Atkins people out there, we have a head start on the rest of America!

According to this story at Yahoo the get up to 40 inches (one meter) long, weighing up to 15 pounds (6.8 kg), with toothy jaws and snake-like scales on their heads, with their eyes in the same position as a snake's and can survive for two to three days out of water, breathing air with a primitive lung!
