Because people seem to be addicted to the news these days, I thought I'd pass along one of if not the best sites for news out there. NewsMax often has stuff the others like cnn.com and msnbc.com do not have. Check it out... can be slow sometimes so be patient.

Damn it my hands are killing me today! I spent the better part of yesterday putting up a DSS at my mother in laws house boat... the dish install is easy it was the mount that killed me. I used a chimney mount to attach the dish to a metal pole. Gak! anyway also yesterday I worked on my prop controller for about 3 hours and hope to finish it tonight.

For those of you following the story no my computer is still no right. I mostly have working but there is still one little something that I have not yet figured out.

Want to have a little fun... this is a cool interactive face thingy... just go see it and have some fun!

Looking for something new to do on the web... it may be coming in the way of 3d web browsers

I know at least some of you have done the internet music thing... if you want to know what I listen to at this time of year.. and many other times of the year click here 24/7 Halloween Music and stuff!!!! YEA!

I leave this post with an anonymous quote...

"Life is not measured by the breaths we take but by the moments that take our breath away.

Yes it's 1am I am still sitting here all consumed by the news of the attacks. I am wondering about taking my own family to Orlando next week. Is it a smart idea? I think now is THE safest time ever to fly! I'm talking they are making everyone grab 'em and spread 'em right now... I may not even wear underwear just to save time. The thing I think that bothers me the most is the a-holes are getting what they wanted ... disruption of the American way of life.

On the other hand... We all went to S's birthday party today and later went with her family to dinner at Pappasitos... this prolly why I am awake... I am so full right now I feel like I am going to pop! Blam!

To cool... the Hackers are starting the war first! Groups of online vandals and hackers are split over how to respond to this week's terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, with some Internet vigilantes calling for an assault on perceived terrorist sites and others pleading for calm.

Would you use 802.11b with these maniacs running around out there?

Lastly I leave you with a link to some incredible displays of how this happened infographics

Ok I've got the bug bad bad bad! I want to get my Camaro running but I'm having a hard time finding a good place to take it. I want someone who will do it right, you know starting with taking off the gas tank and cleaning it out. The 2 places I've called so far are just to booked to do it. What I need is, a carb rebuild, all the fluids changed, all the hoses and belts changed, a tune up. Might need a water pump as those tend to go bad after awhile. I'm sure I'll need a battery. After I get that running we'll see if the tranny is hosed. Sitting dry for so long I'm guessing the seals are all bad. Once that is fixed we'll redo all the suspension parts. Everything needs to be tightened up it's all getting dry rotted by now. I also want to go back to the orignal style wheels on it... rallys with rings and caps. So I'll be on the prowl for those...most likely in the 15x7 variety, although JC tells me there are some look alikes in the 16 and 17" sizes now... hmmm could like a look at that! Oh man do I want to drive that car now... turns out classic car insurance is only about $150-180 per year. too cool!

Well the cam I got is preeeeemo! I just bought a firewire card so I can cap the stuff on the cam down to the pc. We'll see how that works out.

Speaking of cams want to look in on peoples lives try spotlife.com lots of online cams there.

Well this was week one in the fantasy league... let's just say my ass will be sore for a week! DaMn iT! At least it was good to see football again!

I know I'm slacking... let me start by saying whata bunch of BS UPS tracking is... did you know when then show tracking it is really not where your package is? It's where it should be! WTF that is crap! What is the point. Anyway long story short I got my camera and it is SCHHHHWEEEET!

Saturday I spent most of the day trying to figure out what was wrong with R's car. JC figured it out in the end and we went out Saturday night. I thought a night out with the biys runnin' around would be no big deal, not cost me much money... ummm I totaly have the bug to get my Camaro running now. I cannot wait! More on this later...

Three or four years ago my Dad and I were talking about sports and stuff when he mentioned a book about the 1986 NLCS game six between the Astros and the Mets. It was called "The Greatest Game Ever Played" and it was! This is one of those games you will never forget. I still think the 14th inning home run by Billy Hatcher was the single greatest communal orgasm this city has ever had and I was right there with everyone. It ranks higher than the Rockets Championships, higher than the final four Cougar last second buzzer beater loss and higher than Oilers losing to the Steelers on a touchdown that wasn't!

In 1986 the Houston Astros played the New York Mets in the NLCS. We had Mike Scott who threw a split fingered fastball that was ... un-hittable and they had fate on thier side. The umps stole a game from us, the same umps gave it away in the bottom of the 9th in that game 6, and that same umps laughed in the faces of the Mets everytime they cried sandpaper at Mike Scott.

... on to the point for four years or so I have been looking for this "out of print" book. Last week I found myself at Amazon.com, they have this wishlist thing and I had put that book in there years ago. When I logged in I was surprised to see that a used copy was available... $7 on the credit card and 6 days later it arrived.

I read the back and the insert on the cover on the first day. Tonight I picked it up intending on reading a few chapters... I just finished it. I have to tell you reliving this thing pitch by pitch was not at all easy. I was reminded of how I felt when each thing happened, things I had long forgotten about good and bad. My heart beat in my chest just as hard as it had when I was 19. If you are a sports fan this book is a must. I still feel the pangs of defeat as I sit here now, and I write this as a therapy, otherwise there is no way I sleep tonight.

Nolan Ryan, Mike Scott, Denny Walling, Kevin Bass, Glenn Davis, Bill Doran, Billy Hatcher, Alan Ashby we remember these guys... how about Knepper, Thon, Garner and Cruz and who could forget Dave Smith and Charlie Kerfeld! The list goes on...

If you'd like a copy try Amazon
they now do used books as well. As for my copy, I'm saving that for my son... when he's old enough to understand we will read it together. good night...i.am.sam
